Continuing to enjoy and experiment with my new camera

Colorado is a sunny place and we are fair, fair people.
Drinking...

drinking . . .

water too low to reach. . .

Hey, I'm hanging out here, not bothering anything, but I did notice your water is almost gone. Weird.

Simple Woman's Daybook -- the wee hours of the morning on the last day of May 2010

 Check it out here!

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... a gorgeously cool Colorado night

I am thinking...about what Memorial Day 2010 will be like for me
I am thankful for...those who are trying to improve the situation in the Gulf of Mexico

From the learning rooms...studying the instruction manual that came with my new camera!

From the kitchen...eating up the left-over spaghetti and thinking about making apple-oatmeal bars

I am wearing...a tie-dyed shirt and grey jersey capris -- both from a clothes swap

I am creating...presents for my friend Elizabeth in New York -- after this, only one more facebook gift to make!

I am going...to bed very very soon

I am reading...The Tightwad Gazette II and finding some good stuff as well as some extremely dated stuff

I am hoping...that Kacy's spinal tap results will be helpful

I am hearing...a quiet quiet sleeping family

Around the house...need to wash out the litterbox I got on freecycle

One of my favorite things...lovely pens

A few plans for the rest of the week: spend the day with Keely on Wednesday and then off to AVS for a celebratory gathering (similar to a graduation open house), PT on Thursday, and the 48 hour reading challenge starting on Friday!!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

One of the very first pictures I took with my brand new camera!  Very exciting.

Happy Monday to All! And to All a Book Giveaway!

Hello everyone!  I had a lovely weekend on retreat at Snow Mountain Ranch with my daughter's school.  {Didn't get quite enough game playing or reading in, of course, but I did get a good start on Marion Nestle's What to Eat -- which was like a little extra conscience in the presence of lots of food and comfy chairs -- "Should I have another piece of that yummy cake and then sit here and read some more?  No, I should have a banana and go for a nice walk in the sun."}.  It was a great opportunity to get to know other Alpine Valley families a little more.

I'm still pondering what kind of camera I am going to buy with my birthday money.  I have it narrowed down to four:

Canon Powershot SD780IS
Canon Powershot A3100IS
Nikon Coolpix S3000
Nikon Coolpix S230

Happily accepting advice!

One last thing on this bonny Monday morning -- Lois Lowry's The Giver.  If you don't already know and love this book, your life has a small little empty spot.  I highly recommend you read it soon.  And here is a chance to win an autographed copy!
