Saturday Snapshot

It’s now time for Saturday Snapshot, hosted by Alyce, At Home With Books.  Sharing favorite photos captured by ourselves or family/friends is what this event is all about.  And of course I couldn't limit myself to just one this morning!  Fiona and Lilly were pot & pan selling termites and Mark was eating oatmeal at the dining room table and needed me to take his picture as well.  Clearly a pleasant morning around here.

Friday Fill-Ins

Here we go!

1. I know I'm going to make it through this year___.

2. _Bring me cookies and milk__ if at all possible.

3. This weather has been great for _someone who misses rain.

4. An opportunity, not__ a problem.

5. I'm really happy I have the ability to _pay my medical bills this month and be available to my daughter.__.

6. _I'm looking for a job environment that is pleasant and where I can put my skills to use while learning new ones__, or something to that effect.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _a good night's sleep__, tomorrow my plans include _eating breakfast (what Fiona said my plans for tomorrow are)____ and Sunday, I want to _enjoy seeing my aunt, uncle, and cousin____!

I'm letting myself take a 24 hour break from job and apartment hunting stuff

The job I was super excited about has fallen through -- though possibly just temporarily and it still feels like a good connection was made.  The apartment building I'm interested in has a opening at the beginning of June and I sort of want to nab it, but of course I can't without a job.  There's also a possibility that I will become a caretaker for a dear friend.

Tomorrow my husband and I will file the rest of our divorce papers and maybe that, combined with a head cold, is enough for right now.  I still have few feelers out, for both jobs and housing, and meanwhile I'll drink my tea and try to get rest and take care of all the children and get better before my aunt and uncle come this weekend.

I don't know what this picture is all about, but random is my style these days.

My review of this one will be up on Sunday.  I'm enjoying it so far -- you don't see many YA utopias these days and I'm always a fan of time travel.  I think the cover is kind of cool.

Other than that, I'm expecting another week full of change, anticipation, and wondering.  This instant Fiona and I are listening to a flute sonata by Mozart and getting ready to sleep.  Tomorrow I will be with Mark and Lilly and Fiona while Amy works and in the afternoon Jeremy will come to pick up Fiona.

I need to figure out what I'm wearing to a job interview/meeting-ish thing on Thursday afternoon -- which is also the day that Jeremy and I have our initial status conference in the morning at the city and county building, after which we hope to file the rest of our divorce papers. 

Fiona is asking me some very complicated questions about days and months and weeks and years so I will close for now.

The Tasters' Guild (Book 2 of The Poisons of Caux) by Susannah Appelbaum

Fiona and I read this one together and enjoyed it.  I am not completely in love with the series or in sync with the world Appelbaum has created, but Fiona likes them enough to finish out the trilogy.  I asked her if she had anything she wanted to share here about the book, but she wasn't interested.  :)
