Here's my stack of books for Saturday's read-a-thon (see my post about making pledges here).
The top four are the ones I plan to especially focus on:
Why Shoot a Butler? by Georgette Heyer
Promised Valley Rebellion by Ron Fritsch
Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis
Hull Zero Three by Greg Bear
The bottom six are ones I'll get to if (when! :)) I finish the top six or just need something different:
The School of Night by Louis Bayard
Luna by Julie Ann Peters
The Murder Room: The Heirs of Sherlock Holmes Gather to Solve the World's Most Perplexing Cold Cases by Michael Capuzzo
Running the Books: The Adventures of an Accidental Prison Librarian by Avi Steinberg
Choker by Elizabeth Woods
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie (a re-read for me)
And of course I reserve the right to pick up something else entirely, though I don't have plans to do so at this point. :)
Dewey's Read-A-Thon is what prompted me to start this blog a bit more than a year ago and I'm looking forward to participating again this year. My life is in the midst of a whole lot of changes and I'm job-searching and housing-hunting and I'm considering this read-a-thon a 24-hour escape from all of that before plunging right back into it all on Monday.
Good luck this Saturday! I wish I could participate so much but alas I cannot. I'll live vicariously through you. =)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Saturday! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI started blogging because of the readathon too! What a great pile! I can't wait for Saturday to read, cheer lead and host a mini-challenge! I'll see you online!
