Dewey's Read-a-Thon 2011 -- Here we go!

Hour # (actual time): 1 (6:00 a.m.)

Finished Reading: my new e-mails and some of the new items in my Google Reader.  :)

Up Next:  Why Shoot a Butler? by Georgette Heyer

Feeling: sore in my right shoulder, glad to start the day

Eating/Drinking/Where: a pear, English Breakfast tea, ice water -- in the living room for now, while everyone else is still asleep.

1)Where are you reading from today?
Highlands Ranch, CO

2)Three random facts about me…
I nursed my daughter well past when she started speaking.
I don't like mayonnaise.
I love Amtrak.

3)How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
10

4)Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
To read at least four of my ten books.  :)

5)If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
Alternate books if helps you stay awake.  Drink lots of water.  Change location -- even if it's just a different position in the same room.  Take a shower as a break.

  2. I like the shower idea. That's a good way to jolt oneself awake after hours of reading. :)
