The child hopes to reconcile the parents or to heal an ailing loved one by promising to be exceptionally well-behaved, keep her room neat and picked up, help with chores, and study harder and do better in school. ~Healing the Hurt, Restoring the Hope: How to Guide Children and Teens through Times of Divorce, Death, and Crisis with the RAINBOWS Approach by Suzy Yehl Marta
This seems like a good thing to be aware of and prepare for.
How to participate: All you have to do is share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading on your blog or in the comments. Include the title and the author so we know what you're reading (and can go pick up a copy if it sounds good!). Then, if you feel so moved, let us know what your first impressions were based on that first line and whether or not you liked the sentence(s).
Gerald! Look! ~I Am Invited to a Party! by Mo Willems
:) I love the Elephant and Piggie books and this one may be my absolute favorite. The beginning is obviously a great attention grabber, especially combined with the image of Piggie excitedly waving her invitation.

These both sound like very tempting books. Thanks for sharing, and also for visiting my blog.
