Mid-Event Survey

Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now?

School of Fear by Gitty Daneshvari

2. How many books have you read so far?
One book, two short stories

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? I'm looking forward to reading more short stories in The Norton Book of American Short Stories

4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?
Asked my husband to be more "on" as a slightly early birthday present to me. We are house-sitting so it's been fun to have more space to spread out. I started a blog for the first time ever.

5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
I selected a book ahead of time to read aloud to my six year old daughter for times when she really wanted to be with me. That has been working fairly well. There were men with power tools in the kitchen but I closed the door to the room I was in. :)

6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
It took me quite a while to finish my first book (When Someone You Love Is Depressed) but I think it was because it was non-fiction in a pretty hard-core way. :)

7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
No -- I think you guys rock. Thanks for all you are doing!

8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?

Good question... I might include even a bit more fluff reading and I would
like to do more cooking/baking ahead of time.

9. Are you getting tired yet?
not too bad -- but I think I do need to keep drinking water.

10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?
Just that I appreciate Google Reader to keep up with the blog.
